AB Election
Is it safe to try to open a thread on this? Seeing that it is touted to be one of the more crucial AB elections, perspectives outside the realm of of the usual news sources, pundits may be useful, helpful.

I'll sum up this election as follows. One choice leads to economic prosperity for Alberta and more autonomy from Ottawa. The other leads to less economic prosperity for Alberta, more Ottawa interference, and more economic meddling by quebec. Pretty cut and dry this time around.

Pretty much sums it up.
While crucial, it's also one of the more cut and dry elections.
And remember, if you "just can't bring yourself to vote for Danielle", stay home that day, have a few drinks, and keep telling yourself "it'll all be over soon".
We'll take care of the rest.

And what is the NDP going to give you? Also how are they planning to fund their plan?
Everything comes at a cost
Really need to look at every angle and remember nothing is really free with government

Contrary to popular belief, health care is NOT free! In fact it takes up about half of the entire provincial budget. You may not pay directly out of pocket, but we all pay dearly for health care!! I lost all respect for Smith in 2014/2015. Not really impressed with some what she has come up with lately either. That said I will still vote UCP, not so much for Smith, but against Nutley!

When we wake up the next morning after we vote , the only thing we know is who will be the next new millionaire !
Our taxes will go up as normal .
Fuel will go up at the pumps as normal .
That is a fact !
Like the old saying you can't get away from Death and Taxes .
If we can at least get some of our health care back that we had before the Conservatives came in .We will see something for our taxes .
Then Life will go on as normal.
Do not vote for who we had last .
If you really want to see more changes other than that , don't be looking for anyone you voted for . Get off your ass and go work over time .

I went into a walk in clinic to see the doctor a couples months ago, and was turned away because it was full. So I went to another one did the same, and it was full. Had to go to 3 walk in clinics to see a doctor. Oh did I mention my family doctor was a month long wait to get in?
Never mind the fact that when I finally saw a doctor, I never got a proper assessment. Just a few quick questions and I was on my way.
We have a health system in Canada, not healthcare. This really ****es me off as someone who used to work in healthcare and has seen the decline. I’m seriously considering paying to go see a physician in the US for a proper health assessment that’s how bad it’s gotten in Canada.
But that’s all besides the point because neither the UCP or NDP want to change the system. Both parties want people to suffer on long waiting lists to protect Canada’s “Golden Calf” socialized government medicine. A system where we all suffer equally and no one can access high quality healthcare.
Any politician who was willing to bring in the Swiss style healthcare would instantly have my vote.

It’s people like you who put stress on the health care system! True dipper want everything for nothing. If the NDP get in you have fewer doctors, more parks, fewer hunting excursions, no firearms, and higher taxes.

I'd also like to add that if you're happy with the direction that Canada and the world is heading in then Rachel is your gal! She'll make sure you get the welfare state (free physiotherapy) that you're "entitled" to receive.

Get out and vote.
Apathy will surely benefit the NDP.
I cannot stand Danielle Smith. I would love it if she did not get a seat.
However, Notley ( Trudeau and Singh ) must not govern anything. Ever.
People died so we are free to vote. Get out and vote.
People died so we would never be a communist country. Get out and vote to make sure the Liberals and NDP do not get in and we don't have to live in a country.

All people should have to remember is the major policies that the NDP put in place immediately after they got in that were not part of their platform --
Carbon tax (which the Liberals thanked them for in taking a leadership role),
The rapid phase out of coal plants without a plan --- then importing electricity from Montana from coal fired plants,
Their absolute distain for any community, person or business impacted by their policies.
The name calling of people who raised concerns or objected
The list is long

Whether you have a capitalist system, a socialist system, or a communist system, there will always be the rich elite, and the poor, which goes against the very principles of socialism/communism. So a truly socialist/communist system can only exist in theory, and not in reality.

Just wanted to let everyone know the NDP voted to close debate on Bill C-21(Firearms Law) in Ottawa. While they had been supporting debate on the bill to this point, they flipped at the last hour. Might sway some of the gun owners who think the NDP is your friend.
I think they did this now because a new poll came out showing a UCP majority today. Not having to appease Albertans they let their true selves show. That’s my theory at least.
