Default Awesome day at wab

So me and my buddy took my boat out to wabamun the last 2 weekends and caught about 80 pike and walleye together. The biggest one we caught was just a little over 10 pounds. Today we caught a lot of little ones an some decent medium size one. But the next time I go I want to target so big big pike. I'm gonna head over to the plant and try my luck over there.i would love to catch a pike around 15-20lbs god that would be the most amazing feeling ever. I'll be heading out next weekend. Any tips would be muchly appreciated.

That's part of the hunt, I've been looking for over a year. Find the structure find the fish I have heard of a few large ones caught around moonlight bay and sundance.

Tip #1 Leave the boat launch early in the morning like 430 am in the dark.
Tip #2 Be at your honey hole before sun comes up.
Tip #3 Wait for the Train ...yes the train. They bite when it rumbles past.
Tip # 4 Troll with the biggest 7 inch spoon you have and hold on .(five of diamonds)
Tip # 5 post your picture.

I've got some pretty decent size crank baits that I've never used before and some pretty big spoons. What kind of lb test line should I have? I only have 20lb right now. I'm gonna go this week and buy some nice big lures. I think I'm gonna try in between the sundance plant and that other plant I have seen. Hopefully just hopefully I'll nab me a nice big one.

Location is important, but technique is the clincher.

Do some online research on how to target big pike.

There's lots to read.

I have been doing doing a lot of reading and watchin a lot of vids that people post from wabamun. I'll nab me a big pike one of these days there. That's the only place I fish except the nsr but I haven't been having any luck there yet, still pretty murky there
