Default Best place in Alberta...

to take that Mrs. on a horse back riding trip. 5-7 days would be awesome!

Looked at a few online, but I believe the locals would know best.

Any suggestions?

Thanks fellas, A tad pricy tho.

over $1700 per person for 5 days at the one spot. Really, really nice all the same!

For 2 of us including flights is well over $5000. That's sun and sand money right there.

You are correct, for likely less money you could do an all inclusive to some run-down Mexican resort. A good chance of catching a stomach parasite, likely there will be bed bugs as well but it would be sunny and there will be a beach??

For a lot less money you mean!

Last march we went to Jamaica for 8 days, stayed a 5 star resort all inclusive. Food was awesome, and actually, the whole place was pretty amazing! 6 restaurants on the resort, free sailing everyday and the night life was second to none!

Trip was $3450 all inclusive and we spent just over $1000 while we were there as well.

We did 3 excursions there ( that was the $1000 we spent)

A day horseback riding.
A day snorkeling and walked up dunn's river falls.
A day trip to bob marley's birth place.

So about $4500 for 8 days.

8 days in alberta horseback adventure would run us close to $10,000. And we won't be leaving Canada.

Yeah, that seems a lot pricy to me!

I would think a couple hundred dollars a day each would be enough. NOT $700 a day!

Geessss.. Am I riding "Trigger" ?

Wranglers guides are making $250 per day in Alberta - Cuban hotel workers get $30 per month.

2x never been up on horseback. Been through twice on foot however and was spectacular both times. The Ramparts are something worth seeing (moat lake is a great place to spend the afternoon).

Another great (and shorter) ride would be into the Stanley Mitchel Hut from the Yoho Valley trail (10km in or so). Again I have not taken this trip on horseback but have been up on foot. A few easy summits to scramble in the area making for some great panoramic views.

Not sure how many outfitters still go up into Willmore these days. It is a nice trip as well. Most outfitters camp near Egales Nest Pass.
