Going Antelope Hunting this year, and what I only have loaded is 175 RN
and 100 grain Hornity Hollow points for the 7 mag.
I realy don't want to start on a new load for an Antelope and was thinking of using the 100 grainers .
Anyone drop a deer or an Antelope with one of these 100 grain hollow points?
What is your thought on this ?
Which 100gr hollowpoint? If you are referring to the Sierra 100gr varminter,it is designed for varmints as the name suggests, and the result will likely be very messy with excessive meat damage.
Not exactly the most prudent choice with antelope in your sights.
Why not just load up something more appropriate like a 120TSX, or a 139-140gr AB, IB, or similar.
You'll have lots of time to work your load up any ways.
Those 100gr HP's are not a game bullet any way you slice it.
BTW: Where are you going antelope hunting, to know this far in advance?
The Hornady100gr hollowpoint is also not a good choice for big game hunting, and will likely result in similar damage to the Sierra 100gr HP.
As Dick suggests, try the 120gr TTSX or a good 140gr bullet.Such a bullet will work well on all game from pronghorn to moose.
