Default Alberta Hogs

Thought I may start a thread of hog sightings/ sucessful hunts.

I went out today to some crown/farmland by Barrhead and almost shot a hog. A momma weighing about 200kg ran out with 4 little porkers. I was expecting something to pop out looking like a European hog, but these were light coloured and the momma was dark brown. I set up cameras to see if they come back to the area I saw them and I will come back next week.

I know a few were shot in Lac Ste. Anne county, Barrhead, Mayerthorp area and by Fort Saskatchewan.

Any tips how to hunt them? I don't think stalking them will be fruitful.

I'm no expert but if you know they are in a given area, use an electronic caller using "piglet in distress" sounds. Ground blind/tree stand?

That may be a good idea. I will jus tuse my e-caller for geese haha. If that hog hunt is what it seems like, that is very cheap I would say.
