I was looking for photos of large dugout trout and i came across this guys flickr account. It sounds like hes a biologist and is really into photography. These are hands down some of the most beautiful photos of fish i have ever seen. There are hundreds and it appears many photos were taken in canada. I have to warn you though he is a photographer and I ran into two female partially nude photos in the older direction (tab at the top). If you go in the newer direction you will see many awesome photos. If you go in the older directions his fish photos get more sparse but if you get past the nudes there a many more awesome fishing and diving photos. http://www.flickr.com/photos/fishasa...ream/lightbox/
Hi folks
So i'm that fisheries biologist who has the Flickr site you guys are discussing. Just to clarify a few points:
1) I am a fisheries biologist and several of the images are of large fish that were caught by rod or net during work and had to killed for our Total Metals testing progrm on fish health. An example of that are the large Pike.
2) When angling on my own, I indeed practice catch-and-release but also keep some for eating
3) Winter netting programs required we obtain baseline data on Inconnu. A certain number of fish are killed for age/growth determination based on otolith removal. Genetic samples are archived and internal organs are examined for general health. No meat is wasted and is distributed among community members. Sorry if such slaughter photos offend some of you.
4) I hope you guys enjoy the underwater photos.

Keep up the good work. I believe you were the guy swimming in Baker Creek when I was fishing there after work. That was a while ago... Have not been up there in two years. Pics are great, keep up the good work. Underwater shots are incredible!
Great stuff Chum!!! I especially love the drawings. I am looking forward to seeing more photos. Do you ever sell prints? I recently moved into a new apartment and would love to get some nice photos for the walls.

I have a few very high quality Giclee prints of Lake trout originals. Email me on my flickr email. I can send you photos of the prints to show the size. They are quite big, on 20 inchx 30 inch paper (aaprox). Price for signed print: $90.
I feel the photos in the 'newer' side are particularly beautiful. I never thought of pike as friendly but they almost seem that way to me now that I've seen you right up close to them and actually touching one. Amazing.
