Default way to go WSS South Edmonton

Off to WSS south Edmonton for Retumbo or H4895 powders, 7mm bullets and fillable rear leather bag rest. Guess what, NON of the above. Again. How do they stay in business?? Actually they have NO POWDER at all. OK, I'll try Cabelas. No powder either or rear bag rest, they did have the bullets. Wow.

I guess I'll just continue to buy supplies from Warburg and Thorsby gunshops.

WSS doesn't need my business.

You are telling us that the WSS powder magazine is completely empty, as in no gunpowder of any kind?

Should of just went to P & D. Probably would have better luck IMO for what you need and have in stock.

I'll send you a PM, in case I have some bullets for 7mm and brass for 7mmRM.

The north Wholesale Sports doesn't have powder either. They have a sign on their gun counter listing the powder they DO have. It's maybe 6 items long. Powder you've never heard of. Why are both north and south completely out of powder?

Did they lose the ability to sell it or what? What a joke.

Oh well, I got my IMR4350 from Cabela's. The guy said they had 'tons' in the back.

Saskatoon WSS is pretty much completely out of powder also.

I was in the other day and I couldn't believe how many empty shelves I saw. Literally rows upon rows of half empty shelves.

I find WSS terribly frustrating as well! More often than not I am shopping at the Calgary or Lethbridge stores, and I usually leave without purchasing any of the items on my list.

For most part the front line employees are trying their best to help, but they simply cannot sell what they do not have in stock. It blows my mind how WSS can stay in business, yet be perpetually out of stock on Powder, Bullets, Primers, Reloading dies, Plastic MTM boxes,Brass.

Whoever does the purchasing for WSS needs to shape up!!

It's is a nice supprise when you can go to wholesale and find the brass and powder you need.......wait......should that really be a supprise? Why can't we expect that?

I have no clue how powders, bullets and brass are ordered but why is it always out of stock? Can't they buy bulk and have a surplus?

I bet one reason they have a hard time stocking the shelves consistantly is probably cause guys are like me and when they actually do have stock on something I buy a ton of it just so I dont need more in another 6 months when they wont have stock.

WSS has been discussed ad nauseum on this forum. What would be helpful is if we have a contact at UFA or in higher level management at WSS. THAT is who we need to be directing the criticism to.

WSS is getting short on low inventory excuses. Remember that crock about the computerized inventory taking over half a year to be changed.

Too much inventory hurts the business, not enough is harmful as well.

Losing money does not appear to be important at WSS.

It should be.

I was at the S'toon one yesturay holy crap very thin stock, they moved the ammo to the floor on shelves to hide the empty . i asked the cashier when the closing date was, she laughed.. Said the dude who orders the inventory for Alberta and Sask quit a few months ago, and no one has ordered shyte. I don;t buy it.. They should have last years sales on hand and just pre-order that amount..

Actually I was told that most of the ammo was moved to the floor as a result of frequent requests from customers who did not like to wait in line just for ammo. Still pretty slim pickins

Duke,
Last year they had an excuse for not ordering gopher loads. They can not fall back on last years order cause there was no order.

Popped into Saskatoon again today to pick up some .284 168gr VLD's.

Noooooooooope.

I sent a concerned email to the help desk for WSS after my last visit. Nothing rude, just an expression of concern seeing as how Cabelas is opening up here in a month or two.

No reply.
