Default Do You Bonk Your Fish?

just reading some threads and im seeing people bonking their fish before they put it on the stringer, or grass.

so my question is, do you bonk your fish, or just let them suffocate?

personally, i put them on a stringer, then let them suffocate. if they are still kicking when im filleting them, then ill give em a good whack on the head.

I stab my fish through the eyes or slit there throats and let them bleed. When ice fishing I let them freeze to death.

I bonk them immediately if I am going to eat them. I am not for making animals suffer. I like bonkers so much I make them on the lathe out of aluminum.

Dang, Ken!
Those are sweet bonkers. Is it possible to buy one off of you?

For any fish that I decided to keep, those that are small enough will go into the fish trap, and those that are bigger will be bonked and stringered. All fishes are bonked at the begining of the return trip.

I don't use stringers, but i think their fine as long as the fish on the barbaric device are DEAD, and within the regs of course, people culling fish on stringers are doing so illegally, immorally and disrespectfully, this behavior i've been known to get very heated over, and you wouldn't like me when i'm angry...hehehe

If you're gonna kill anything do it humanely, how is torchering anything acceptable? Kill it right away, bleed, gutt and ice right away and freshness is not an issue.

Thanks BBJ, never even thought of to notice.
I'm gonna experiment with my next few catches, bonk one and cut another to see for myself.
