I would be very interested to know as well, as I live in the north end of Edmonton. That's pretty close to me.

I did find this, but it doesn't say anything about how good the fishing is.

Change your fishin techniques there. Its fun fishin and when the water levels go up so does the catch numbers.

As a resident of St Albert, I have caught a few hammer handles out of the Sturgeon river. Love the colors out of that slew!! Purplish green Pike pretty cool to see!! Haven't fished for a couple years, maybe they've gotten healthier?? Doubtful?? Water level in the river is the highest I've seen in years mind you. Damn!! Now I'm tempted to give it a whirl!! You'd have to pay me to eat one though!!!! LOL!!!!!

It has a few small pike in the deeper stretches but is not worth the time as far better lakes are only 1/2 hour away. Safety D is wrong like usual about lakes activity so pay him no attention

The Sturgeon River flows out of it if I recall and therefore pike and suckers and minnows should be in there. Maybe some perch also. It has been subject to water level fluctuations. I know of guys catching pike but you are better off just floating some parts of the river for pike. Still...wasting time fishing there might pay off with a surprise...and any fishing is better than no fishing.
Find your own secret spot!
