Default Aw Awesome day of Dog hunting, with Coyote-man

It took a few phone calls to line this hunt up, but we finally made it happen. We met at Timmies at 630am and we headed out, we made our first stand, at about 715, it took about 8 min and we had our first visitor, and then a 2nd, we changed the sounds up and a third appears. They moved at us at a very slow pace, and we tried a few different sounds but the slowly moved to the east and we did not see them again. we could have took about a 280 yard shot standing but we let them go. Stand two was a bust. Stand 3, had a coyote barking at us like a mad man at about 500 yards. The hills were alive with coyotes talking to us, but this sucker wanted nothing to do with us. Stand 4 , had us looking over a place that we could see that someone had walked in and did some calling the day before, because of fresh snow we could see a ton of rabbit and yote tracks so we go up about 500 yards and walk out, it was on the third series that I seen two coming hard through the valley, I had coyote-man, come up closer.. seemed like three minutes and the did not appear, said were did they go.. started up the call and one pops over the rise then 2, then 3 then 5 are coming us. They mill around at about 120 yards , he says you shoot first, so I line up on a Male and send a pill. I see thru the scope it rear up fall, I hear another shot, I get up and roll a runner to the right, and all the dogs are gone over the hill. turns out we only got two, and a blood trial on the third, with further tracking we lose him. High Fives to go around, as veteran Rookies we are both of us forgot to bring our drag lines. lol...Wind is starting to pic up and its only 11.30,We hit Stand 5,we find our self's on a very steep ravine, but we can see for a long way, I hit the call and a minute later I hear a peep squeak, and he is pointing to three dogs moving toward us. We Hold back on the call for a minute, I hit it again and I see 6 more dogs running across the ice at us, so we got 9 dogs on the move at us, they would disappear in the sage bush and reappear , I have now lost sight of them because they are below me but partner has a clear view, he does not know that I can not see. he saying me shoot and I am telling him to shoot. He has 4 coyotes at 40 yards from him but we are shooting damn near straight down. I see him getting ready for the shot so I sit up and get ready for my run to the edge, Bang I run up and one is confused and drop him he rolls down the embankment, its a mass confusion and mayhem, I pull on a runner and empty my clip. no luck, we talk to each other and cannot believe what happened. He thought he may have missed, we find a place to get down, there is a lot of blood, so we track again. so in 5 stands we call no less then 18 dogs come in, a Memory of a life time, Thanks again Coyote-man for the great day we have to do it again.
