Well, although it is no longer the Great Alberta Bird Safari ( things change as we get older!

), we still made it down to hunt some birds with Oldgutpile and our good Friend Steve Horsley!
Here are a few pics of the hunt, culminating with a spectacular point by the Munsterlander Puppy Rigby who held solid while Hunter the Springer ( he could be a line backer the way he moves!) changed direction on command and charged in, flushing the rooster . The coup degrace was a perfect shot from my Son's 14 gauge muzzle loader! It was an epic moment to watch!
Rigby is not 8 months old yet, trained by my son, and Hunter came to us through wwbirds who let us know this great little spaniel was looking to get rehomed!
Rigby made numerous points this past week, and is a super prospect for roosters and ruffies!
The two dogs work super together, although we were a bit hesitant to try them out in tandem at first, with Rigby being a complete rookie!

Hunter put up two birds for me, one a blind retrieve , on the same morning.
This was from Wednesday, big winds and some rain, Hunter made a blind retrieve on this Hun after being given the mark , and then flushed a rooster bout 2 minutes later.

My Westley Richards keeps on smoking the country up and flattening birds- when it is pointed properly! LOL
This is Rigby and his litter mate Reo, who met up with us at Ross Creek.
These young pups are out of Four Points Kennel.

Steve finally had enough of the rain on the wet coast and moved back to Alberta - he is quite happy in High River, now!

This was our first day out in Brooks.

We always have a great time down here, even with the lack of Sharptails and my good friends Hornhead and sdvc who could not make it this year.
