2014 archery pics
Post up you 2014 archery pictures! Maybe will get lucky and one of the sponsors will donate a prize for the best photo. There should be some bear and turkey photos already. I will start things off with a beaver I arrowed last night.

Nice one! I almost had a pic of a raccoon to share from my turkey hunt last week in Ontario.....I got him and he didn't last long, but I couldn't leave my blind because there was turkey's in the field and as a result, the raccoon vanished!

Thanks! You boys have a skull stretcher? I think he's just short of p&y I'm taking in for beetle cleaning. He has a dandy hide and the hunt was a riot! The footage is pretty good too!

Great thread but we don't really attract sponsors like that here.
Nothing from 2014 for me except a few dead targets!

That's awesome when you can get the kids involved. I am looking forward to doing a couple of shoots with my 6 year old this year.

Great pictures!
Best of luck this year.
Hey Booner, where did you get that bird ?
Nice one!
I can see in the bottom picture Lefty posted the bird on the left shows
a younger fan with the tail mid section long, but the bird on the right is
is good sized Tom for sure.

Fine shootin' AB, what yardage ?
I used to figure if I could group 4 - 5" at 25yds or less it was good
enough for broadside lung shots on deer at 20 yards or less and for
birds it was 1 - 2" groups at 20 yards or less.
Just a personal rule of thumb.
Did not post this to ridicule on yardage but rather to offer confidence on
your shooting. I'm guessing your shots were farther than 20 yards.

40yards. These nockturnal nocks are like lazers when the light conditions are right. My friend bought the same target as me.. so we put mine on one end of yard.. his on the other. He had geese land and sit at 20 yards that would have made tasty targets lol

I got it at Accurate Archery , the one in the pic is my boss's... but same as mine both in magnum size... we were shooting mine turned arround which has small yellow circles on the other side
I thinkits a great bag target. Stops them quick. Easy arrow removal. The outer shell has a zipper and can be replaced... possibly other face options? Looking into that. I will admit i do not like shooting at circles and alot of the time i was using pieces of paper or colored paper with a golf tee holding it in.

Dang LeatherBurner!
Not sure but from what I'm seeing but if not mistaken...
that 2nd photo is of a head shot with the Bodnik.
How many yards ?
Even 15 would be comparable to a handgun.
20 or 20+ would be like a 22 iron sights long gun and 30+ would be like ?
and a scope, Wow.
Nice.
So even if you shot it at say 12 yards without a flipper rest, or a drop down
rest or a scope and didn't use a range finder ?
I'ld say you did pretty dang good anyway.
To hit a penny even at 15 yards is a pretty good shot.
No matter what the tool.
You must have practiced a lot.
That's good.

Not being sarcastic here but sure would like to know.
Leather burner, what did you learn about stalking/hunting ?
Just how did you close in the yardage ?
Passing the learning and experiance on is almost as rewording as
the hunt.
