A Desert Ironwood (Olneya tesota) rifle stock would make my heart skip a beat (so do the ones pictured)....But you'd be hard pressed to find a stick (free of cracks, checks, knots etc.) big enough to make a rifle stock from it. Even if you did find a piece big enough...SWEET MOTHER...would it be expensive!
Damn heavy as well...I'd bet an Iron wood rifle stock alone would weigh close to 10 lbs. It is a common wood for pistol grips though.
