Default Weekend camping trip......

We spent 3 days camping out at lake z....( o.k Jackfish lake) and had incredible weather, great friends and familly, and pretty good fishing. We shared the lake with only one other group Friday and Saturday, then a few more came out on Sunday to enjoy the day. It was a pretty cool experience getting woke up at 3am by the ice snapping so loud it sounded like a gunshot. Momma bear didn't care for it too much, but it just made her snuggle a little bit closer.

That looks like a pretty interesting experience! I think though, that with that white tent I'd be worried about being slammed into by some drunk or idiot snowmobiler or even automobile driver.

I have thought about that, but we had the lake pretty much to ourselves out there. It was a blast, the set up works awsome. Next time I am going to put down a hinged floor, to keep it a little drier on the bare feet when you hop out of bed to catch the first fish of the day.

Looks like good times, what is the setup time on a tent like that? Been wanting to try this for a while.

By the time we hit the lake, got everything set up, got firewood, and cracked a beaverage it was 2 hrs. The tent is the least of the set up, 2 guys that know what they are doing can have it set up in 1/2hr with all the tarps and stove and such. The internal frame makes it a real simple process.

Great pics and I bet a great time. We are camping from Mar 17-22 up north, but in a campground. However, there is 22 of us going and I plan on setting up a wall tent on the ice for a break spot. Keep the stove going and maybe even drill a couple of holes in there too.

Looks like you had the perfect weather for it too.

Cheers.

Its a pretty cool experience to go to sleep with the ice snapping and the tipups going! The weather definately was a bonus, made it very comfortable. Momma Bear spent the weekend in her P.J's as you can see.

Looks like a great way to spend a weekend. Were you at the Jackfish lake west of Rocky or is there another one? How was the fishing?

It was at jackfish west of Rocky. The fishing was ok but it seems to be slowing down now. We still caught lots, but only at prime time, when we used to be able to catch them all day long.

P.s DarkAisling, I got in trouble for posting her pic in her P.J's, but when that's all she wore, what's a guy to do???

See, being comfortable is very important Makes one more relaxed and connected to nature . . . and the fishies!

Only another couple of months and wall tent fishing starts again....... When the weather starts to turn, and the hunting is over for another season, at least a guy has something to look forward to!!

That is one sweet set up ! I would like to ask if you leave the lines down all night and do the little bells have enough noise to wake you up?

No little bell would wake this guy up, we pulled the lines up at night when we were sleeping. When were were cat napping in the afternoon the bells in the tent would be enough to get our attention.
