ste anne
I was thinking about heading there on saturday for some fishing. Has anyone been there lately? I would like to get into some burbot, pike and whites but anything would be good. Any advice?
Thanks MArk.
BTW. Just bought a jiffy auger, looking forward to not having to strong arm it through 30 inches. Have a fish tv as well to try out. Looking for a fun day.

seems like ste anne has not been a popular lake this year.
I am taking a few people out fishing tomorrow am. What would be the best lake within decent driving distance to edmonton. We are looking to catch burbot, whites, perch/pike. whatever.
Where is everybody heading this weekend. Not looking to enter any derbys.

Lake Isle off of highway 16 or Wabamun right accross, Wizard lake of hw 2, Thunder lake off of Barhead, and of course the Pigeon Lake, you could also try Jack Fish lake off HW 16 take 770 south about 20 minutes, you're also gonna be passing by Mink lake that holds some nice jacks.
If none of those work for you just hit google maps and check it out for yourself.
Cheers !

I know a fellow who braved the cold two weekends ago. He was hoping to get into the burbs but only found pike. Said maybe ten hammer handles caught, just enough to give him some entertainment. Also made mention of a nice white on the camera. He has a fish tv and finds that it spooks the whites a bit.

Im still tossed up. I wanted to go to ste ann, but haven't heard much from it this year. Just want to have some action. would go to wab, but my son like fish and wants to take a few home for his mom.
I'd still go ste anne, if someone could point the direction to some burbs and whites. haha, I'm not the best a cleaning pike yet. But had some burbs out of gull 2 weeks ago..... great tasting fish!!

I heard that Ste Anne is pretty average right now.
Maybe Isle is better. I know the perch were biting there a week or so ago...

There are some good videos on you tube showing how to clean pike.
I watched them and no problem and no bones either...
