Thank God for kids, nieces, and nephews! After supplying all of them, I'm down to say 30 rods and about 20 or so reels.

I dont think you can ever have enough rods... I usually have around 8 in the boat... usually take buddies that dont have their own equipment so they can always use some spares...
Its always nice when they say they should have their own and leave it in my boat cause they will be only fishing with me...

I quit counting at 37 open water rods (didn't want to upset the garage), and have that many again ice fishing rods. Qualification- I make most of the ice set-ups myself. What can I say .......... I love fishing.

6 baitcast/spin cast 5'-7'
2 light ice rods
2 heavy ice rods
2 pike sticks
2 long line trolling rods
1 mooching rod
2 fly rods
1 vintage surf casting rod 12'
Plus reels for each (except the pike sticks) and...
7 vintage reels including 2 auto retrieve fly reels.
Not to mention my modest collection of vintage poppers and crankbaits. What collection wouldn't be complete without a pair of Popeil's Pocket Fisherman? Got those too.
I have converted a 6'X12' storage area in the basement into a small bait and tackle shop. Carpet, soft lighting, work bench. Peg board. I may go into business next spring, out of my house. Or get a p/t job at Cabela's.

You guys make me feel much better about myself .
Between me and my son we have 3 spinning rods and 6 ice rods (two of which are just junk). I am going to get at least 2x2 more for ice, but won't be buying them in pairs anymore, will test them before I buy a matching pair for my son ( )

2 Ice rods (1 homemade, 1 Frabil 24")
4 Spinning rods (2 cheap, 1 Volteus,1 Fenwick River Runner)
2 Baitcasters (1 starter, 1 St.Croix Mojo Bass)
1 Flyrod (St.Croix Imperial)
1 Surf rod (used to be a flyrod, then modified for the west coast surf)
No Spincasts!
The cheap rods used to be starters, but now that I am into the sport for good, so I mayswell' buy proper gear.
