Keho dead fish? any answers?

Stopped by Keho today... Saw a ton of dead whitefish (some big ones too) stuck under rocks or floating in weed beds with the odd pike... Anyone know what's goin on? =(

Stuff is going to come ashore of of B.C from the quake in a couple years, and the fish are dying from over fishing?? no oxygen?? is it low??

Thats what first came to mind was low oxygen... although I highly doubt it as Keho is an extremely windy area, and that wind is constantly pounding oxygen into that lake... Water was also very turbid (low visibility)...not sure but it certainly is a shame to see.

Yes,
when organic matter increases in a water body, the number of decomposers will increase. These decomposers grow rapidly and use a great deal of oxygen during their growth. This leads to a depletion of oxygen as the decomposition process occurs. A lack of oxygen can kill aquatic organisms. As the aquatic organisms die, they are broken down by decomposers which leads to further depletion of the oxygen levels....
enough to cause a fish kill in this particular water body?... only one way to find out test the water.

bucket brigade dumped some bass in the lake? or its an oxygen thing. cant decide.

Fall turnover could be the problem. As the surface water cools to 4C it will begin to sink. This will cause the oxygen poor water near the bottom to be displaced and mixing through the water column will start. Therefore the overall oxygen levels available to the fish will be lower for a short time. This could result in a fish kill.

Does anyone Know what those feed lots dump into the water? I dont mean to get too off topic but is that what happened to Eagle lake by Strathmore? It sure looks like cow crap soup and i have been wondering how it got that way and if anything is being done about it.
