I take it that you are assuming that Prophet River doesn't get their Leupold products from Korth? I know for a fact that they have sourced Leupold products from Korth for me.

Wholesale Sports........Spokane
Cheap and pay no tax.
Just run the risk of losing it at the border if Homeland Security checks ya out.

And no warranty. Shop around zman and ensure you are buying a Leupold product that comes with Canadian warranty. There is a list of approved retailers on Korth's website if I'm not mistaken.

For a 40% savings on a scope I personally would take my chances on the warranty thing. Same applys to ATVs,sleds and things like that.
I opted out of buying the one I was drooling over when I was down there last summer. And it wasn't because of the warranty.

I'm not sure if illegal is even the right terminology. Because the Homeland Security freaks say us canucks can't bring a scope back home, doesn't equate with illegal to me. Canadian customs couldn't care less.

Even the rednecks working the gun counter down there can't stand the rules that Homeland S. has applied. Doesn't make it right to break em' but sure makes ya think.

Get stopped in an exit inspection and loose your freshly purchased item, and get Persona Non Gratus status from the US HS or Border folks and see if Canadian Customs gives two flips.

It's a US law folks, Canadian Laws do not apply.

Kinda what I said I think.
Point is....you can probably show the Can. customs the rifle scope and all they would care about is whether you`ve exceeded your duty exemptions.
Not saying I recommend going this route, but the OP was asking where to get a cheap Leupold

Prophet river can't buy from any Leupold distributor. I saw his name and the company name on a Leupold banned list at the Shot Show last year. Anyone selling him Leupold it says will loose their distributorship. Not likely he is buyng them from a distributor.

That may have been last year, but when I called him a couple of months ago for some Leupold rings, he told me that he didn't have them in stock ,but he would check to see if Korth had any. He notified me the next day that they were on the way from Korth, and I had them within about a week. I don't know how, but they apparently came from Korth.

I believe he did the same for rings for me. Seems Korth is dealing with him.

Personally, I could care less where he gets them, as long as he gets them and the price is good. If I actually used Leupold optics, I might look into the warranty situation, but since the only Leupold products that I use are bases, and rings, it really isn't an issue for me.
