Default Bait for Perch/ Trout

Hi,

Planning on doing some trout and perch fishing this weekend and just wondering what you guys are using for bait? I've only fished them in the summer never through the ice.

Cheers

Tons of info on this, try the search function.

Perch-micro jigs tipped with your choice of 5mm bait.

Trout-species and habitat dependent. Hint: trout eat bugs and fish.

Depends.
I have had great success with worms for trout, as well as powerbait dough. Never caught a perch before - still waiting to win the sundance lottery and get out - however I hear big juicy worms work quite well on them!

Worms, magots and minnows... those are the norm

if those dont work try gummy worms or gummy bears!!!! they seem to work great when nothing else works!!!

All of the Above and don't forget the Velvetta cheese balls for stocked rainbows. This is by far, my favorite and "go to" bait for stocked rainbows.

If I ran out of worms when I was a kid I'd start using fish parts (guts and eyeballs).

The trout that I catch seem to like shrimp best but I'll sometimes put a worm on as well. I use worms for perch fishing because 2 worms can last a whole day of catching. Sometimes I catch 4 or 5 different perch with the same little piece of worm......they aren't too fussy.
