Nice man caves. Tackleberry, what kind of ceiling do you have?
We are buildling a new house this summer and thinking about ditching the theatre room for a larger man cave. This thread has helped push me that direction.
When building a basement, are 9' ceilings high enough for most mounts or should I go ten?

The higher the ceiling as possible for sure, gives you more options especially for taller mounts like elk, etc..

All look great gentlemen. I am in the process of having one built. My house doesn't have a basement, so we have renovated just over half of the old garage into an office/work space for my wife and her company. Other half is like a hallway now that holds the garage freezers and extra fridges. This hallway ties into the new 30'x40' triple garage built in front of the old one. The new garage goes past the existing one by 25'. So on the back side is a seperate room where you enter through the garage which will be the man cave/trophy room.
It will be 15'x25' with a vaulted ceiling from 12' down to 9'. The room will all be done in knotty pine with an old looking but new gas stove. Going for the cabin look. I have a window that is triangular and follows the contour of the roof line and the bottom is at 9' so it will be hard for anyone to look in but will get some natural lighting.
I am having a 5' floor lamp, 2 table top lamps, and an elk chandelier being made from Jason Koenig who owns antler creations down in Medicine Hat.
My 2 coffee tables are being made from a guy out by thorsby and they will be the natural log furniture.
I have purchases a set of 1950 hand made snow shoes from Quebec and a few animal traps to hang on the wall to add to the decor.
And finally I found a guy to make me a custom reloading work bench to finish off the cave.
Finally my dream come true and I will post pics when it is complete. Which won't be until summer, as the concrete still needs to be poured for the floor after the spring thaw to minimize cracking.
The one corner which has the 12' ceiling will be ready for my cat and hopefully a great spring bear from northern sask in a life size scene.

Wow, great thread. I am looking into having a very large room in my basement done up. All of the pictures are very nice and give me a lot of ideas.
Timba, Tackleberry and CLB - very classy, thanks so much for posting.
CLB... gotta ask what you do for a living. That room is a touch above anything I normally see, it is definitely an eye catcher.

Some nice rooms here for sure guys!
I've got a nice new basement area that I plan on turning into a bit of a 'trophy room/man cave' idea. My wife loves taxidermy all over the house so its more of a personal choice to have a cool little room down in the basement. I'm sure at one point we'll move some stuff upstairs as well to show it off.
Anyways, I think I'm going to do something with a bit of barn wood for trim, or possibly look at putting some molding to break the room in half (cant remember what its called).
I have a wood stove in the basement, and although I dont like the idea of all my taxidermy in close proximity to the stove for stuff drying out, etc but I think if I watch the humidity I should be good. Its also not our primary source of heat...

Awsome rooms. But....
This thread is useless without INVITES.
Moosehorn, I'm pretty sure no one here will mind if you posted up some more pictures of the sheds. WOW!
SH, are you looking for some t&g flooring? I've been using a Calgary mill to make custom flooring at a good price.

It is just, regular 2x6 pine, very boot friendly, and the stove is where I dry my wet clothing, with the wood fireplace.
