David - I know you put in serious time to finally land that brook trout, how many other large brook trout did you hook while on that quest? Do you think there is still brook trout of that size in the lake? Didn't you hook a really large male in roughly the same location that you lost at the boat? Were you able to use motorized boats at the time you caught that fish? I never spent much time fishing that lake as the areas I would like to fish are a REALLY long electric motor ride.

Yes Matt i spend days on the lake(Maligne) each year for over 5 years and some time"s i was the only angler in the campsite at Fisherman Bay and some trips my ladies would look at me with big eyes and ask someone else will be here tonight right? i would say yes to that knowing that there may not be anyone coming down the lake .. they did have a fisherman special that left the boat house at 8:30am and they would pick you up at 5:30 and bring back to boat house dropping you off at Fishermans Bay.. i have a artical that Tom Hugger Wrote for Outdoor Life after he did a hour interveiw on the ph i will post in abit .. but its a few pictures of it it may take awhile as i will try to get it scaned and post..

Thank god. Your name wouldn't happen to be Jorgenson would it?
Speckle, you handled the criticism perfectly. Nice fish.

Actually you are forcing your ethics on everybody that does not agree with you by continually spouting off that you are better than they are and they do not know what you do.
I could care less what you think, who you are, or how big a fish you have caught and released - I've cought and released some hige fish as wwell, and killed some to eat.
Big deal, I really don't think that anything we do outweighs the amount of nets that are being set in many of our lakes, but listening to people like you preach your ethics is getting real tiresome.
You said this was your last post - good, go away.

I have never seen a World Record certificate, thanks for posting!
That's a great angling achievement and great memories to boot. Thanks for posting the pics of your fish too, great fish!

story on that 102 lb laker is it was netted by comercial fisherman in lake athabasca and had no sex organs, which is why it obtained its great size....

Feel free to join the (varied) discussion. There's no right answer just some ideas.
It's amazing that the largest recorded laker is 102lb's, yet the largest caught on rod and reel is only 52lbs.

Oh wait. none.

that doesnt even make sense! slot limits support my arguement. go find me a slot limit on pike anywhere in alberta let alone one that says "keep pike over 30 pounds because they are no longer prolific spawners"

Hi Mariko, it was legal for him to keep miss pike so he choose to keep it, can you blame him, i dont know why you are getting angry with a guy who kept a legal pike he was aloud to keep, you should say congrats instead of arguing over nothing, now if it was a pike lets so he caught in a c&r place obviously your argument is justified but its just not.

other provinces have slot sizing where you can keep small fish and really large fish........ anything in between can not be kept...... no it does not support your 1 man army arguement at all.
