Default Walleye

Hi everyone, i hate to do this because i know everyone hates it.
But usually id use my app and do all the reserch myself but cant right now.
I have a few days off school soon and i really want to get a walleye through the ice. I also wouldnt mind keeping one so if anyone could tell me
Any lakes within say 4 hours of edmonton and maybe some tips id greatly appreciate it! And like i said i hate doing this i usually like exploring myself but the seasons closing fast. Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure if the ice will be safe but travers might be what your looking for it may also be a little longer than 4 hours

Though it would be just over 4 hours, Travers is closed come March 16, and I'm pretty sure the ice (if there is any) would be in terrible shape.

I would suggest hitting up at Slave. I have yet to be skunked at that lake. Fishing off of Canyon Creek has produced but I hear the hotspot at this time of year is off of Joussard. I did good using a Swedish pimple tipped with a spotail shiner.

Dance the swedish pimple moderatly aggressively, then bounce it in the mud a bit. Most of the strikes were when I paused the jig for a couple seconds then slowly raised it 6" and let it drop back down.

I would say Slave, Calling or Fawcett since you want to keep a few.

Good Luck
