I was at Ridge on Sunday and it was about half open water. I would think that most of it is gone today.

Cross coulee was almost all still frozen when I checked it on Sunday.

Mostly open but closed till June 16th. Where are all these lakes/ponds? Seen drift and pontoon boats on the Bow last weekend d/s of fish creek. I'm thinking they must be getting out at policemans? Rick.

Not all lakes are closed until May 8th.

Police outpost opens on on April 1st and place like Payen, lees, Crowsnest lake, beauvais, and beaver mines are open all year.

Depending on what size of boat you have there is also other options available for lakes that are open all year.

You betcha! I will likely be busy as heck again this year, but I get the feeling the season will be a bit longer with runoff being lower than the last few years.

Let me know when you feel the itch to get that boat in the water.

Mar 22, Friday.
MacKinnon to Carseland, main river is open, most side channels still frozen, shore ice is 4-6 feet.
Carseland weir to hwy 24 (Closed Apr 1-May 31) minimal shore ice (a foot maybe?).
Hwy 24 to east, minimal shore ice.

Mac boat launch; 4-6 feet of shore ice.
Jansen's boat launch; 4 feet of shore ice (better than last year when I dragged the boat over it)
Carseland boat launch; minimal shore ice.

All access roads in good shape.
Piles of birds on the river.

Hopefully get a float in about mid April with some good weather.
