Default Line recommendations.

Hey guys. I can't decide between two different lines. Felt both in store and are almost identical, just wondering if anyone has any positives or negatives over the other. Power pro super slick an suffix 832 are the two I'm stuck between. Thanks

You will do fine with either one. Both are great lines.

suffix 832 is hands down the best line i've ever used... just my 2cents. No more pennies, so just round it down to 0cents soon... no experience with the other line. But seriously it's great stuff. Doesn't decay like all the other braids i've used have, lucky to get a season out of some.

I prefer power pro, only tried suffix once and the dye started to came out of the line in 2 trips.

Sufix lines are some of the bests, but lets not forget the sufix in the mono and floro.

Hahaha. Not poking fun but sometimes you ask and get more confused. Was always a Power Pro guy but switched to Suffix 832 because I think it casts further. They're both great. If one's on sale then it's even better.

I've used both PowerPro and Sufix 832 and honestly like both. I haven't tried the super slick PowerPro though, so can't comment on that one.

I do like that you can get PowerPro in bulk though...I have a ton of ends of spools of line just kicking around, and I've had a couple bigger reels that took over 150 yards of line, so one normal spool wouldn't cut it.

If either one was on sale I'd go for it

Both are excellent, but after time I noticed that powerpro loses it's color, but suffix has a strange black resin come off of it when spooling and using your fingers to tension the line.

Yeah. I'm gonna throw it on my shiny new Daiwa zillion. Probably gonna go with the 832. But super slick comes in brown, which may help in the murky water around brooks.

Fireline is the same way, but it doesnt hurt the line performance.

The new Gun sight guides lessen the chatter and slap. Still is like a russian helicopter at the reel though

What about old faithful, Trilene XT. Cheap and trustworthy.

Never tried Powerpro but spooled many reels with 832.

I like power pro nice and smoothe , I find it trolls better and cuts thru weeds better then suffix 832 .

Suffix 832 is soft aswell but I find you get a longer cast with the suffix 832 . Doesn't seem to attach weeds or other crap on your line .

In my honest opinion , can't go wrong with either of em . Both are priced pretty well the same . Comes down to what kind of reel your putting them on , and how you intend to fish them .
