Default Perch this time of year??

Went out hunting for jumbo perch today, but all we found was a bunch of small pike. I know there's jumbos in there, but where do they hide this time of year? There is very little weed growth, we searched the entire lake for the most part, deep holes, steep drop offs, known summer holes, different thermal layers, Nothing!!
Where are they hiding??

Try the shallows along the shore line with coverage such downed trees.
