this was just at the junction for the connacher sagd pads 80km south of ft mac on hwy 63, the great devide pad. he was booking it across the road, just about got hit by a pickup but he saw him and slowed down at least.

Those color phases usually don't get that big... someone takes them before they have a chance to grow, especially if it is a known bear.

Yeah I bet, I was on my way to a service rig that day and the directions where clear as mud, "its about 60km to ft mac, youll see a plant on the left, a tent on the right, thats where you turn. oh and theres a bear that hangs around there too and youll probably see it."


sure enough I was driving up, saw the tent on the right, the plant on the left and youve got to be kidding, that cant be the bear that hangs around can it? everything just fell into place, it probably wasnt that exact one hanging around but i laughed still
