He should be I was at the fights. The prelims were the best of the fights. The main fights all sucked.

This UFC card went how most thought it would leading up, lackluster and not worth the ticket price. I am glad however that the scalpers got f@cked.

Really, i mean the main to fights where not the greatest the co main was good as far as what the UFC is putting out lately. But all the fights up to that point where solid fights, and more entertaining than lots of UFC events in the past, the fights looked better than the one i went to Vegas to watch.

I was there and i wasn't disappointed, i actually think it was an awesome time. Have i seen better fights, ya. Will i boo two men who choose to risk life long physical problems by smashing each other to unconsciousness, no.
It was an experience each fight fans owes to him/herself to partake in.

That was terrible! From fighters, judges, and ref's, that was the worset Ufc ever! Some of the best fights were fans in the crowd! I can't believe that nick ring got that decision as well, garbage!
Gsp, comes back in November, hopefully Dana tries to redeem himself in Cowtown!

I couldnt beleive ring got that decision too, he ran around in circles, And what was rosigalti calling a nut shot on that perfect liver kick.
The card was garbage and boring, I had the rig shack full of people here watching and we all thought it was terrible. The only fight that was good was the first one with the standing arm triangle.
Yea dana is not happy with that card and hes letting everyone know it.

I would never waste my money on that crap personally. When prices went sky high for the event, you knew it was bound to flop. Kinda like when my canucks rely on luongo, same deal... pay a lot, get nothing... nuff said. hopefully you guys/gals know now to support something local, not ufc's american pocketbook - clearly they don't care anout the fans, or they would have found a better card.

Heck, 960 radio station was bragging this event up like it was a Mohammad Ali vs George Foreman fight. Man were they wrong. It was brutal

Not sure how he can justify charging the same price for a ticket or the PPV when every single fighter (I think?) on the main card dropped out due to injury.

I think Dana had best keep this in mind if he wants to book another Calgary UFC event; give the ticket buyers a significant price break and he'll still be raking it in with PPV revenues anyways.

Horrible card, all hype and no show!! Glad I find internet feeds for these fights now. Not worth the 60.00 you get charged on the PPV and I certainly wouldn't dish out what they're asking for at the gate.

You'll be waiting a long time for that.
Dana said the same thing after one of the Anderson Silva wash out fights. "Anderson Silva will never headline a UFC show again." I guess his fongers were crossed during that press conference.
He also promised to make it up to UFC fans. I am still waiting for that. Is it me? Did I just miss it?

Wifey and I bought every card for years, we really looked forward to UFC nights. We would cook something special for the fight and had a blast.
I have had a really hard time justifying buying the card lately. Now we may watch 1 in 4. It's only $60, but I feel cheated. The cards just aren't what they used to be. It is now all about the main event, which usaully are a let down.
To me it is guys like Sam Stout and Marcus Davis in the undercard that make the fight. But that just doesn't seem to be the emphasis anymore.

If you want guaranteed action you can always watch WWE. I've been watching mma for several years now and find the majority of bouts competitive and compelling. Like any sport though the potential is always there for a dud. If you paid to watch the ppv or see the event live then I guess you have earned the right to bitch. Nobody made you pay though and maybe mma just isn't for you.

I don't see it that way. I see a change in UFC in the last couple of years.
It used to be all about the fans, how many times did guys like Clay Guida talk about putting on a show for the fans? I never felt the headliners were too big for the sport, but I do today. I see it in Silva and GSP too and it seems to be spreading down the ranks.
Fighters today don't seem to have the same attitude anymore, and its hurting the UFC. Its too bad, I miss it.
To be clear though, I enjoy watching grappling. I hate watching guys like Couture lean against their opponent on the cage though.

I was there and am super choked at the effort of the "main eventers", judges and the refs. Also Dana should have either cancelled the event or offered refunds to those who wanted them (never ever will we see that kind of integrity).
The worst part of the experience was the Saddledome's rules. There were 8 of us and we had 4 tickets at $230 per and 4 on the floor at $750. per. We decided to all pay $500. and flip a coin and split the seating time on the floor. However, Saddledome issued bracelets and said no seat switching. We spoke to guest services adn basically got told to go pee up a rope. Never paying for another event in that building again, and I'm actually a Flames fan. Rant over!

There are too many events now. A few years ago there was a big PPV every month or two and it was THE thing to see. Now there's something every week it seems. I can't keep up and I've lost interest.

I'm with you on this 100%. I remember when guys at work would talk about a UFC event weeks before it was scheduled to happen. Now, it is sometimes brought up on the Thursday or Friday (if at all) and guys usually can't justify paying for it when they find out who's on the card. I bought the last Sonnen/Silva PPV and wasn't disappointed. It sure didn't make up for the 6 or 7 I wish that I hadn't purchased though.
Despite what a lot of people say about GSP, I find him quite boring to watch. I find that he fights a style that leans towards not to lose rather than for a win. Chael got people to buy the last PPV with his personality and style. I would rather watch a very exciting fight where GSP loses than a mediocre/boring fight that sees him keep the belt.
Overall the UFC is losing the appeal that it had 4 or 5 years ago. They had better do something fairly quick or they risk losing their fan base permanently.

Was it just me or would it have not been a nice addition to be able to hear the play by play from Joe and Goldie? If not during the entire fight at the very least in between rounds would have added to the experience. Spoke to a guy after while waiting for the train, who claimed he had been to other fights where this had been done.
Overall, I was pretty happy with the fights but I did show up at 4:45 and stayed for the entire card. Anyone who showed up at 8:00 for the main card only, I can see why you would be disapointed.
One drink at a time was a **** off as well. Had a buddy miss the 7 second knockout cause of it.

I was at the fights also. Prelims were great main card not so much. Still glad that I went as i am a huge MMA fan. I support the UFC and the local promotions. I would love to see them come to Edmonton and if they do I will be at that show also.
