Default Port Alberni

We are heading to Port Alberni next week to visit my wife’s friend; unfortunately my wife’s friend’s husband was called it to work so I no longer have some one to go fishing with.

Since it is short notice to get a guide and expensive for just one person I am considering trying to fish from shore.

I have never fished from shore in the ocean, so I am looking for a little guidance on what type of gear I need and what type of shoreline might be productive.

Thanks

Ray
