Default Forks

Hit them today with slivers and tacklerunner, lots of bait stealing mooneyes caught by all 3 of us, even slivers believe it or not. a 3 foot sturgeon for tacklerunner, and a smaller one for me. slivers, not so much. Some new species crossed off both of their lists today. Watched a 10 year old boy hook and fight in a 54 inch 32 pound sturgeon, he was just a bit excited awesome day, hopefully have the boat on the water for the rest of the weekend if I can make the new trailer springs work. if not the shore is close by. The Oldman river is clearing up nicely at the lower end, the Bow is still muddy and higher than normal, but its dropping still.

Thanks Captian Christie for a memorable day. Your a good man, a half-assed fisherman and an excellent tour guide. I saw a whole new world today I never knew existed less than 3 hours from home. Your history of the area was great but I guess to be a great historian, you have to be OLD.

Slivers saw his first antelope, I saw my first bull snake and we all saw our first badger/porcupine/beaver/fox hybid cross. And then when we stopped and backed up to the exact spot he ran into the ditch, he was gone.... spooooky!

And Slivers, you gotta stop falling asleep on my shoulder in the truck!!!

How was the road access? Has the water receded enough to get a car in there? How about the mud? I want to take the family down for a couple of nights towards the end of the month. To get the gear, kids and dogs down there, I will the wife to drive her car in as well.

Hey guys. Can someone please update me on the conditions down there? I am planning on driving down with the wife and kids on Monday for a couple of nights. I am hoping the report s of river blowouts are up North and that the access in there is still good. How have the bugs been? Many thanks for any info. The kids and i are pumped and the wife is coming around! Looking sooooo forward to it

campground and access road are good. road from the highway to the campground is getting rougher but not too bad. saw one sturgeon caught from shore today, not much action though. lots of goldeyes in the area, they are pretty catchable from shore.

Thanx Wayne. Just needed to make sure we could get the wife's car in. The fish will come. Or not. It doesn't matter. We will have a good time I am sure.

Man, you weren't kidding about the flies and sand fleas. Hungry little buggers! Still, we all had a great time. Weather was hot. Fishing was a little slow, especially during the day, but enough to give the kids some excitement. Overall, a very good adventure. First time camping with the kids and first time for me in probably 15 years. All worked out well. Good times and some great memories.

Wayne, you gonna be out at the Forks again this weekend? Looks like I got my act together in time to salvage a long weekend after all. Hoping to help you get those tag numbers up. But most importantly, for me to get into some fish.

Awww man! I'm going into fishing withdrawal...
