Default Fishing for Toddlers

Hey Folks! I,m looking at taking my 3year old fishing for the first time, any recommendations on small ponds that are stocked around the Calgary area.if not, were should we go fishing. I think most of the water bodies around are a little to big for a toddler. What do you folks think is the best way for a three year old to be intoduced to fishing?.

Thanks for any help on this issue.

In my opinion a really good spot is Strathmore children's pond aka kinsnen park. It is loaded with small rainbows that are easy to land. Only about a half hour drive east of Calgary.

I introduced my daughter to fishing last summer, she was three. In my opinion a worm under a bobber is the way to go. They get to see the bite and easy to cast. We went to Helmers dam west of Sylvan lake and caught rainbows, is was a great day. Any where you can get rainbows or perch will keep the kids interested. I think there's a few perch ponds in Calgary?

Keep it fun and it will be a great day. Good luck.
