6.5 x 55

hello everyone just wondering what everyones thought is on 6.5 x 55 i got one and am thinking of trying to trade it off for a 22-250 or maybe a 223 not to sure yet

What kind of rifle do you have? How would you like to trade for a .243 (Rem. 788 bolt action). This post should be on the Buy/Sell forum.

P.S. Oh my "thoughts on the 6.5X55". From what I've read and talked to people about it, it is a great cartridge. One of those that is much better in real life than it appears on paper.

I have its big brother the .264 win. mag.

I got the .243 for my kids to hunt deer and pronghorn with but have not been real happy with it. I think a good 6.5X55 would be a better choice.

I own 3 different 6.5x55's.......great cartridge. Low recoil and is great for deer and such. Have used it on moose with successs a well. Just load up a 140gr or heavier bullet.

What make and model is the rifle please? The cartridge is 6.5X55 but that doesn't tell the whole story.
