Mostly private ranch land, but quite a few people will let you hunt, I used to work up in there, seen lots of elk, and lots of hunters...

I was there opening weekend and got the bulls bugling on sept 2. The elk are still in low numbers. One of my fab hunting spots had absolutely nothing in there. Lots of crown land. It was way too hot this past weekend to shoot anything. I will be heading out this weekend in the midst of trying to find me a elk

Default 304 or 305 Porkies

Ive hunted 304 the last four years,no problem with land owners.Thought I would change & hunt 305, seem to be more game & closer to home, Wow I cant belive the differnce in the land owners. Im going to have to figer out the forestry, cause the land owners are crankry, plus we have an outfitter to deal with whos tying up A bunch of land. So I would say 304 in the porkies if you want privite land.

I hunt 305 lots. Very tough to get permission.
Lots of frustrated land owners there, partially due to the traffic jam of road hunters that happens every year. Then there's the crown land quad armada.. That's always a nice peaceful time. Big fat butterball hunters puttering around breaking the before noon rule and such .

It's fun!
