Default Pics of First Goose Hunt

Pictures are taken from a cell phone so not the best.My dogs first hunt,think he was a little concerned.lol

good stuff, how did he do retrieving? congrats.

Word of caution and take it for what it is worth, I would focus on ducks or smaller birds, it takes allot of confidence in a dog to retrieve big birds, I have seen a few geese over the years give a dog a licken, and if they dont have that confidence or tenacity, you wont like the outcome.

Nice when it works isn't it? Mine got out on his first one on Sun. I just made sure it was very dead before letting him near it. At least you got the pics, wind was coming up to gale force at the time we went looking for mine, so, no pics.
I laughed because the wind was blowing the feathers up and made it look quite alive to him. He was pretty cautious, barked at it, lunged at it, couldn't figure out how to pick it up, and ended up dragging it to me by a wing. He thought about retrieving a couple of dekes that came rolling across the field, they were moving pretty quick though.
