I know there is a couple of these threadsgoing right now, so instead of high jacking those thought I'd make my own. Does anyone use the Etrex 20? Thought it looked decent for under $200. Just to be used for finding my way around the bush while hunting and making it back to truck or camp.

I have a etrex legend Hcx nad a 60cx there is very little differance just cx has more buttons and the etrex you have to scroll thru more screens. cx gets better reception but there very similer units.

I have the eTrex 30 which is essentially the same. I purchased the Backroads Map pack and the Garmin highway maps (use it on the motorcycle too). I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the only features the 30 has over the 20 is an altimeter & tri-axial compass and "wireless sharing"(which I've never used).

Battery life off of 2 "AA"s is excellent (on all day for a few days in a row) since you rarely need the screen back light on outdoors. Signal acquisition is above average, as it uses the US GPS satellites and the Russian GLOSNASS system.

I've beat the crap out of mine, soaked it, dropped it in the mud, froze it.. Hell, I dropped it from the bike at.. umm.. highway speeds and it still works like the day I bought it.

My only complaint is the screen size - and that really only applies when I'm riding - as a handheld for hunting its great (light and compact).
