Busy loading ammo tonight for next week's venture down south!

12, 16, 20, and 28 brass cartridges with a lethal dose of lead and black powder.
Wouldn't wanna be a bird next week!

The 20 and 28 cases are loaded with 7 1/2 nickle lated shot, as the guns are hammer doubles but have drawn steel barrels.
The 16 and 12's however, are damascus, so I have loaded them with unplated lead.
Most of the 12's are loaded with a 3 dram charge and equal amount of shot, but I loaded a few with a full 3 1/4 dram charge and 1/14oz of #4's .
I normally don't shoort this stuf with that heavy a charge, I'll get hornhead to try it instead!!
I had the little 28 gauge hammer double out today at lunch, it's a light (4lbs 12oz) gun, but handles itself really well with a smokelss skeet load or 60 grains of black and an equal amount of shot.
can't wait to get on the road south!
