Default Fishing trip to Sioux Narrows

So I have lucked into a free trip to Sioux Narrows Ont thru work. Looks like it is a great fishery. Just wondering what type of equipment is used for smallies. I have mostly spinning rods and a baitcaster. Would a medium or med/heavy work for them? Any ideas on what type of lures? Any advise would be great thanks.

3/4 inch twistertails, power minnows, tube jigs..take some natural colors and some bright. X raps work real good as well. Medium rods will be plenty for the smallies.

Beautiful Spot .... Theres lakers , walleyes , small and largemouth

musky , pike , crappy .... Is it guided thru a lodge ....if so just take your rods and reels ... Tackle isnt anymore expensive than alberta there ....

Sept. can be the best month there .

Great thanks for the info. I am really looking forward to it, I just wish we had more time on the water but can't really complain when it is free right!
