Default My son likes the stripes

Took my wife and son out for a day on the lake. We had a blast. Consistent perch action all day which is perfect for a 5 year old. My wife doesn't have a licence this year so we took advantage of that. Met a couple great people including AO member cube who was out with his wife. Great guy! Not the biggest batch but a nice breakfast and a super out of the deal. The bigger perch didn't seem to interested today. C&R well over 100. Very important when teaching young kids to fish!

Brings back memories of being a kid, getting excited by the numbers of fish caught.
It's days like that, that create a future fisherman.

I would like to send out a BIG THANK YOU to baptiste moose.

I don’t know if it was because it was close to Valentine’s day or close to our anniversary or because I said I was going perch fishing, but my wife who NEVER ice fishes said she would like to come along. We packed up and got and early start and arrived at the lake to find that my wife had forgot her winter Jacket. Of course it was windy and much colder Monday than the rest of the weekend but heck we were there. After drilling the holes and setting up the tent I gave my wife my coat and a fishing we went. After 3 hours of only getting ONE fish to the ice I said it was time to move. The day before baptise moose said that should I make it to the lake I could stop by and say hello. Well that is exactly what we did after a short drive around the lake we found him his family and a couple of friends and said our hellos. He invited us to drill some holes close by and was kind enough to give us some advice as to lure choice, as they were having better luck than we had had earlier. A few holes drilled and up went the tent. It was still fairly slow but we could at least we could see fish beneath us now. The next thing I knew he knocked on the tent door and handed us a freshly cooked hot smokie and bun. Wow was it ever good. I don’t know what that smokie was made of but it had some awesome fish attractant. As soon as I took a my first bite the fish were on. I pulled fish after fish after that. (while trying to hold onto the smokie). Whatever those smokies were made of were pure perch gold.

Too make this story a bit shorter you made my wife’s and my day and we are very grateful. You turned a day with a rather poor start into a great and unforgettable day. This is what I think this forum is about and you set a very high standard

Thanks

Cube and Cubes wife
