I heard about this a while back and I believe you only get really basic hunting for free. Do you still have to pay to use better gear and hunt other species than deer?

If you have to pay to play, wondering if you pay and if it's worth it?

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I wanted to mention that I love this game. I've played it for years. Just passed 100 hours of lifetime gameplay. In that time I've harvested 92 animals, and spotted 179, which gives you an idea of how this is not your normal shoot 'em up hunting game. It's actually hard to find animals. It makes it very rewarding when you finally connect on a good animal.

I hadn't played in a couple months and when I started it up again yesterday, I see they've added a new hunting area that looks just like the Alberta foothills, and is stocked with moose and brown bear. Fantastic! Harvested my first brown bear last night.

Paying for all the licenses is definitely worth it. I also paid for some in game money to get things like camo, a bow, a treestand, camping tent, and a bear bait barrel. The bait barrel doesn't seem to work on brown bears. I just dropped one in black bear territory though, and hopefully when in done work it will have attracted some color phases to the barrel.

Apparently they're testing multiplayer! I can't wait for that.

Maybe this weekend I'll upload some gameplay videos.
