Hoping it gets even better when it breaks in.

Havn't pulled anything with it and don't really intend to.

It has plenty of get up and go.

That's pretty good mileage if its an average. Especially on breakin.

2009 GMC Sierra 1500, 5.3, 6 speed, 3.42 - have seen as high as 23 mpg and as low as 12 mpg (towing boat)
Calculated average over the time I had it -16.94 mpg (inlcudes offroad, towing, city).

2013 GMC Sierra 1500, 6.2, 6 speed, 3.73 - am seeing about the same.
21 to 23 on long trips. 16 to 18 mpg city. Haven't towed with it yet.

It's funny how Chevy is more obsessed with ecoboost than ford is it seems. There bragging about Getting 1 CLAIMED mpg better than ecoboost lol. Don't forget the difference in weight of the vehicles the Towing and hauling capabilities and of course the significant hp and huge torque advantage. One more year and ford will be releasing their new truck with will even further solidify there lead in top sale numbers over and above everyone else's so called best truck lol. Bring it on Chevy, dodge or ram sorry and what the heck Nissan and Toyota I guess. Nissan already has dodge beat to hell with the 5.0 cummins. That's a truck I think is going to be one to worry about. Even the 2.8 is better.
When Ford advertises they are the number 1 selling truck brand do they total GM's total truck sales or compare to Chev and GMC as separate entities?

And I would agree with ishootbambi's assessment as stated.

I'm thinking probably they laugh at the sound of those words and say glad we never went bankrupt because we would be owned by the government too. They've been the number one halfton for 47 years in Canada and 35 or so in the states. Government motors has a ways to go to BEAT the f150

Yup just about the time when they quit selling Mercury trucks which was about 2 of 5 pick up trucks that ford sold. They did this to allow them to make the claim of being the number one selling truck. Fords numbers include the F 450 and F 550 commercial cab and chassis vehicles, not exactly pick up trucks. Put Chevrolet and Gmc pick up sales together and they outsell the F 150-250-350 truck sales.

2010 Tundra with the 4.6...

Comp states an average of 13.7l/100 km since it was new, which works out to 19.98 mpg combined...In the summer I get 23 mpg while highway driving at about 11-12 km over. I have on occasion driven it at the posted speed limits in BC and have got between 25 and 26 mpg. Just as a note, it has the stock tires on it still, will be interesting to see if the mileage goes down when I replace them with something a bit more aggressive...
