Default Unpleasant surprise

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not squeamish and take those mouse in the beer bottle stories with a grain of salt, but this was a bit of a shocker. Wife likes to snack on those imitation crab leg things, so she bought a package at the local Food for less yesterday, talking sealed, cryovacced package here. She ate a couple of pieces on the way home and put the rest in the fridge. Later last night, got a little hungry and pulled one the next one out of the pack. Doubletake. Little bugger looks like he got processed right into the fish. Sure gave the wife a shock. Phoned Loblaws this morning and gave up after half an hour of "you'll have our undivided attention in a few minutes" . Package says product of the US, so I guess we can't blame the Chinese this time.

A number of years back I was at a Co-op in the deli section where they have the fancier cheeses and I saw a log of vacuum packed cheese that was rolled mostly in chopped nuts, but also had a prominent whole beetle . I handed it over to the deli staff and they disposed of it.

Defiantly spider flavoured seafood.

Let us not talk about crabs, given that their Latin name is pubis pubis.

They can make anything taste like King Crab. Just some pollock, artificial food coloring red number 9, and trimethohydrochlorofloride mixed together, and bingo, King Crab.

Very strange.

When much younger, I did eat a spider myself. It looked a little like that one actually! None the less the scenario was nothing like what you have described Sir.

I must've been hungry at the time and thought I'd give him a try. I've learned it is not uncommon for children/young men to eat bugs but a rare thing to eat is an arachnid!
