CZ 858 now on prohibited list
Just read on another forum that post 2007 CZ 858s are the next one to be seized. Have not yet seen a screen shot of the FRT yet but this is huge. Their are thousands of 858s out there. Now quit sitting in front of your computer and get on the phone and writing letters.

CZ-858 PROHIBITED
Confirmed CZ858 has been reclassified as Prohibited see FRT tables for details. There are 9394 imported at 700 dollars per unit that would be 6.5 million dollars of hard earned law abiding money.

What is going on with the RCMP? Do they not have PR people anymore?
I just sent off a letter to MP Blaney and PM Harper.

There are no plans to broadly reclassify firearms and there are no plans to alter the process in which firearms are classified,” Toews’ spokesperson Julie Carmichael said in an email.

They will come for your hunting rifles next, when they figure out how to make a case. I was irritated, now I am pizzed. Just joined the NFA and will contribute to any legal fund. The RCMP should not be allowed to dictate laws and change on a whim. Canadians need to stand up for whatever rights we still have.

That's what I'm afraid of. I have a number of them.
And will they be sending out letters to those affected, or will they just come knock on my door with heavy boots?

This might be a stupid question but are these firearms that the rcmp just switched to prohib easily converted to full-auto. Could that be their reasoning for this. & no I'm not sticking up for the rcmp. Just asking!

Petition signed, letter to MP written and just about to join the NFA.
This is very troubling.

I read that the early ones were just modified with a different bolt from the full auto versions. But I am not sure how one would be able to modify it to full auto without lots of machining or a new bolt assy. But then with some machining and know how, one could make anything do something it was not designed initially to do.
