Going to newell this weekend...any one know how the ice and fishing has been ???

I havent been on her yet this hardwater, but have heard that guys are driving all over. Id be careful if i was taking a truck out, only been cold here for 3 weeks, she built good ice though and in a hurry. Im not mentioning anything you dont know though. Havent heard much about the fishing, but you know the deal on that one too....

was out on Newell 3 days ago and ~18" of ice, people driving everywhere. fishing was really slow

Was there last weekend. All day for a single flag - and that was with a dozen tipups in. We did better than most other guys there though. Been a slow start for that place as far as I'm concerned.

Talked to my neighbour this morning, he had been out there over the weekend. Said there was 18" of ice. He got a camera for xmas and said they watched Pike all day come and touch their smelts not even enough to set of a flag. They did manage to catch a couple.
