Default Vibram Rubber-Sole Wading Boots

Just looking for everyones opinion on the rubber sole boots with cleats. I do a lot of hicking to and from the river and getting tired of doing it with my hikers and wading boots with felt. Just want to do it with one boot. How well do they grip with the cleats?? Thinking of getting Simms® Rivershed. Thanks Everyone...

Buy a pair of korkers much more versatile. Rubber for hiking and felt for fishing

I have a pair of the Simms Rivershed boot with the Vibram sole and love them. I did purchase the star bite cleats for them as well but haven't seen the need to put them into the boot yet. My boots are due to be replaced most likely this season but they are over 4years old.

Will buy another pair of Riversheds or might look at the new G3 guide boots.

I have had Korkers and didn't care for them. The first generation the sole wouldn't stay in, bought the second generation with the boa lace, couldn't quickly replace the soles and I found I was constantly tightening up the laces (I am assuming because the boots stretched a lot when they were wet and walked lots) when it was time to replace the Korkers I went with the Simms, will stay with Simms from now on

Once you go with simms you will never go back, They are super comfortable yet extremely supportive. I have a pair of the G4's , G3's and just got a pair of the new G3's with the new RiverTread soling. they are great without the cleats but amazing with the star cleats or alumibites. no need to switch boots or soles with the simms!

My feet are 13 with a D width. I don't find the boots too wide

Yup, and I don't so know that I'll never be able to wear Simms boots

C is average, D is considered wide! So...

Thanks for the input everyone. Now I just need to decide between the Rivershed and the Guides.

The older version of the guide boots are still available and on sale. Check your local fly shops for availability and pricing

Default simms boots

the blackfoots are $100 regular $150 right now at BPS, they have the freestones as well which are close to the guides as well as the rivershed and guides.
