Any up dates on ice at winefred lake got some friends heading up on 21st of may thanks,

Might want to bring their Auger if its like any other big lake in northern AB

On their blog last year there was still quite a bit of ice on the lake on May 16th, then it was completely gone by May 22nd.
There are no blog entries for 2014 as of yet.

They might hit it just right ,my best years guiding were right at ice out breaking through ice packs to the bays

I was there may 24 last year and there was a sliver of open water right in front of the lodge and along the south shoreline that was it. Bummed out it won't be open in a week.. theres no way.
