Default Interesting find at Wabamun Lake

My brother found this floating in the lake yesterday.

What a glutinous Pike! Choked to death on his last meal attempt.

Amazing what they will try and eat.

I caught multiple 22-24 inch pike today using a 5 1/2" lure. At least it weeds out some of the hammer handles...

When I was reeling in a 28" pike yesterday I had a larger and mean large pike come and bite into it and hold on till we got into the boat but I couldn't believe the size of fish he tried to eat.

Was that at Seba? If so we saw it too. I pulled the sucker out of its mouth. The sucker weighed 5lbs. The pike was 37"

I was at wab Friday night hammering the walleye. a pike smashed one of the small walleye while i was bringing it in. Damn pike wouldn't let it go lol. Got into a couple nice walleye too. Biggest 24 inch. Cant wait for 3-4 more years for them to grow.

Someone was telling me they stocked more walleye in there again. Anyone else heard that?

Yea I heard the stocked walleye again as well. Turning into an amazing fishery there. Hope they keep the zero limit for a long time. Could turn into a trophy lake very easily

The potential is there...

As time goes on though, I'm starting to worry that the walleye stocking may be to the detriment of the pike...

Are we working towards another Pigeon lake?

Tough to say. We caught over 70 pike between 2 of us on Saturday. 95% of them were over 24" and the bigger was 37". We didn't see any walleye. I saw a ton of perch and spots where thousands of minnows were swimming around.
