Much it all cost when you were done?

Props have no business on the NSR unless you want to smash it up... As for now the river is high but come August look out.

I was running a Zebec Neplus with a 7.5 merc, it was fine But you need to put a Macs River runner on the motor

http://www.propsavers.com/

Not perfect but will help a LOT saving the prop

And always make sure your tilt is NOT locked so if you hit anything it will pivot up..

You can travel pretty far this time of year but as summer goes you will be restricted more and more....
So I bought this 12 foot harbour craft... it worked for a while

Then I got what I call the "River Rat II" 16' 50hp Jet , and I pass skinny water with a smile ...

3-4 "
The intake hangs 1.5 inches deeper than the hull
last weekend I was not paying attention and ran over a braid and touched bottom twice 2 pings and was over I went back and it was just over the toe of my boot..
just do not run out of gas !! I did had to push it 150' to deep water

Good deal on the boat but don't loose it all by risking it on the river.

You may get by now but the river has a way of biting the prop boats when you least expect it.

Enjoy the new boat but maybe leave the river to the jets.

You can use a long shaft on your boat look at the picture of my red boat
That is a 2x12 with plywood bolted to the boat to bring the prop as high as it can go and still work..

If you build one make it higher than needed try it, keep sawing 1/2' off the top till you get full speed, I found I had my motor running 6" shallower than normal with full cooling working... and seemed I was hitting bottom a lot less, also do not forget to tie off your lock down so if you hit the unit will swing up...

I could not afford a jet for years, and a prop worked for me.. just make sure you have a spare prop and tools... just in case
