Default Gunsmith near Sherwood Park for Ruger Mk3 problem

Took my Mark 3 apart for first cleaning, reassembly seemed to go as per the book, but won't fire, feels like trigger not connected to hammer. I need some help with it as now I can't disassemble it.

You have the hammer strut jammed. Make sure the gun is cleared insert a magazine pull the trigger. Keep holding the trigger, point the gun muzzle down and hit the back of the pistol with a rubber mallet. You need to get the hammer into the fired position to release the mainspring.

I'm sure you've already looked but this video does an excellent job of exposing the process. Next thing you should get is a different hammer bushing. The Sam Lam one is excellent. Helps the trigger pull and does away with the magazine disconnector.

Ok, just did what you suggested, mainspring came out, replaced it, moved hammer up, made sure hammer strut was in proper position (my other problem) and now it works fine.
THANK-YOU! I will look into trying to find the bushing.

LOL - that last step while reassembling the Mark III can be an easy one to forget and I seem to most every time I clean mine.

My answer, go to the Sturm Ruger website and look through their videos. They have complete dissemble/reassemble videos for most all their guns, including the Mark III

I don't care about Joe Blow's video on YouTube. I go to the source when it comes to my guns.

Agreed that the manufacturer is an excellent resource. Unless I missed it the videos provide assembly/reassembly instructions not what to do when it goes wrong. This is when you need plan b.
