A guy at the shop was on this weekend . Said he had to do some winding around the campground but got on from there. He was in a 4X4 though

Yo duster You would'nt happen to drive a P.O.S Mazda would you. Maybe you should buy a GM next and spend less time in a sno bank and tow truck and more time on the ice fishin!

Duster there's a thread here somewhere, but basically its snowed in. and no sign of any plows in the near future! Perhaps a good samaritan with a plow on a big honkin truck would help out! I'm heading there soon on my burbot quest but I'll take a sled.

Default Eid

I called the EID in Brooks and they gave me the number of the area guy

They have taken over the campground there so hopefully we can talk them into cleaning to the boat launch at least ...

We shall see.

There is a good path that winds around the campground with plenty of tracks right to the boat launch. It was no problem, but I wouldn't try it without 4x4. Once on the ice the snow wasn't a problem for us. This was on Saturday. There were a few other trucks on the ice that we saw. As you may have seen in my report, the fishing was very slow for us.

Waist deep? Well then I guess I was just lucky and drove on the areas with the least amount of snow. The whole area where we fished there wasn't more then 6" of snow.

We took the road through the campground and drove on at the boat launch. someone else had already blazed the trail, so we just followed the tracks.

Default Hard snow

I was on the lake last night, drove around in 2 wheel drive. Might be harder to break new trails in the back holes. Coming in from the north end is no problem at all.

Default Crawling Valley and the EID

Just got off the phone with the EID in Brooks and they have no intention

of plowing anything . Sounded to me like they dont really want you in there in the winter ....I see they have renovated the shoreline so you
cant drive on anywhere but the launch ...

The EID has taken over the campground and going to spend a pile
redoing it... more improvement more people ....

We did not to bad at Crawling on Friday and sat. managed a couple walleye on friday night, and also 2 Ling about 30 inches long, the Bite went completely dead around us at 11 pm till 10 am sat. then the flags started popping , caught about 15 pike keeper pike and released 14 of them, and also caught a couple more walleye. so the day was great after the bite started. Weather was GREAT on the Lake Saturday.

Default Crawling Valley Update?

Does anyone happen to have any insight regarding recent action at CV this week?

Iam looking at going out there Saturday for the first time and wondering if there were any good entry points on to the lake, any watch out and if possible what area you would suggest trying.

Good Luck to All
