Default Daughter's first fly rod trout

Took kids fishing at Muir Lake this weekend (July 12-13). Beautiful weather but the fishing was sllllooowww... Only a few caught, all deep and on chronies... On an up side, daughter caught and landed her first rainbow on a flyrod.... a feisty 18 incher. She did everything right and listened well to my coaching during the fight.... Her smile says it all...

Much better than my first trout ever, a 6 inch brookie..... If she's like me, she'll remember this trout for life....

Awesome!!

Congrats Dad!

She will always remember the fish on the new rod.

It is always worth the wait, tangled lines, swapping hardware, or what ever comes along to see them catch the first fish!
