Sorry no real tips for you, but Mr Smith can sure make a barrel that shoots.
I used to have a Parker Hale in a Norma, very accurate as well. Can't remember my load but it was from the upper end of the books using IMR 4350 topped off with a plain jane 180g Hornady Interlock. Worked well even though the chrony said something like 2850
Good luck with your new shooting iron.

Nice looking rig. It's nice to have something a little different.
What's the wait time on a Ron Smith barrel these days?

One 308 Norma I have likes 70 grains of IMR 4831. Another is shooting 73 grains H 4831. Both use Norma brass, Federal 215 primers. No signs of pressure with either load in either gun.

Forgot to add, both shooting 180 grain Noslers. 1 Accubond, the other Partition.

Gonna be a very nice rig. I have a couple loads. 168 gr Berger with 75.0gr IMR 7828 = 3206, 190 SMK with 69.5 gr RE 22 = 2950, 180 gr Partition with 70 gr IMR 4350 (not sure fps). All loads shoot very good, the Partition load was just under an inch, the other 2 are .5 or better depending on me. Mine is a Mod 70 Classic with a Pac Nor Super Match

Just had Ron make me a 7mm Rem. Doesn't identify the maker very well, does he ? Some very specific instructions for break in as well.

.308 nm
I like 72gr of either RE#19 or H4831 and a 168 Barnes X bullet or 180gr Nosler Partition. In my Belgian Browning FN Safari....71.5gr of IMR 4350 and a 150gr makes one hole at 100 yards and electrocutes deer 1-12" twist....Harold
